In the new age clash of the titans, Beecroft Rugby Club Middleweights will take on a development side at the College Riffles ground before taking on the NZ Middleweight Barbarian’s at Eden Park.

Beecroft’s Reserve Grade minor premiers began their final series on Saturday with a disappointing 14-7 loss to Mosman.

Starting strongly, Beecroft dominated for the first 15 minutes of play but failed to score any points before Mosman released a barrage of attack for the remainder of the half.

Beecroft defended well and resisted wave after wave of a counter attack from the well-drilled Mosman side.

The previous week’s bruising encounter between Beecroft and Drummoyne, played in atrociously wet conditions, appears to have been at a cost to both sides as they went down to Knox and Kings Old Boys respectively.

With no less than five of last week’s starting line-up unavailable, the selectors at Beecroft went for youth against third-positioned Knox, promoting three colts to the first grade forward pack.
