The Club is very excited to announce that The Vicar at Dural has signed with Beecroft Rugby Club as our Platinum and ‘Front of Jersey’ sponsor for the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Seasons. See new jersey design attached.

It’s a great signing for the Club and I believe both Beecroft Rugby and The Vicar will benefit greatly from this platinum agreement.

The Vicar will become our official watering hole and social venue for the next 3 seasons. We will be holding our first official Mensa lunch here throughout the year, our Presentation Night and a raft of other functions.

The Vicar has been renovated into a truly first class hospitality venue with fantastic dining options, an awesome sports bar and function room all stocked with the finest selection of beer, wine & spirits. If you’re looking for a venue to celebrate a birthday or engagement, catch up with friends for a few drinks or you’re Tom Gibbeson and need that next date night location, The Vicar has you covered.

We welcome The Vicar on board and are very excited to be partnering with the Hill’s #1 hospitality venue.

For further information on the Vicar please don’t hesitate to contact me.

With the exciting announcement of Epeli Ruivadra becoming the Club’s 1st Grade and Head Coach for 2021, we are now seeking someone to coach our Second Grade side.

You would be working closely with Epeli to coach second grade for the entire season. The club already has a manager for the team and is looking for someone with good Rugby knowledge and experience to take the reins of 2’s.

This would be a great opportunity to further develop your coaching skills and join the Club in what is shaping up to be a very successful season.

If you or someone you know could be interested, please contact Peter May to discuss on 0418 177 704.

Back on board this Season is Dave Edwards and Summit Framing.

Pre Season Training will start 27th January, 6:30pm at Headen Park. Our preseason training will be running on Monday & Wednesday nights until the season commences Saturday April 10th.

After the announcement of our new head coach, Epeli has programmed our pre season which will be split into two blocks. Block A will be focussing on Endurance, Strength & Skill Development and Block B will focus on Speed, Game Situation Drills & Team Plays.

At this stage we have locked in two trials (20th & 27th March) and will have teams playing in the Subbies 7’s if that goes ahead.

If you wish to get in contact with me regarding pre season please either email beecroftrugbyclub@gmail.com or phone 0418 177 704.

The new Committee have been working hard to secure the services of a Head / 1st Grade Coach for 2021.

Epeli Ruivadra will be joining the Club in an official capacity next year taking up this role. Epeli’s resume is a great read with highlights including representing Fiji in 28 International Rugby matches between 2001-2006, 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games Rugby Silver Medalist, 2002 Hong Kong Sevens Leading Try Scorer & Representing Fiji at the 2003 Rugby World Cup. Since his playing days, Epeli has had coaching experience with various Clubs across QLD whilst working in the Sunshine State.

I have met and spoken with Epeli a number of times since the end of the season and he is really excited to bring his knowledge and experience down to the Club. Epeli will be working with players across all grades to develop our talent and also help upskill our coaching staff. Epeli was very impressed with the players we had at the Club this year and is looking to help all grades go one better next season.

We welcome Epeli down to Beecroft and are very excited to have someone with Epeli’s experience guiding the Club in 2021.

Pre Season Training will be starting 6:30pm Wednesday 27th January.

“Beecroft Rugby’s Headen Park clubhouse in Thornleigh is set for a much-needed upgrade after the club received $125,000 in funding from the federal government.

Berowra Federal Liberal MP Julian Leeser and Federal Minister for Sport Bridget McKenzie visited the club last week to announce the funding.

Beecroft Rugby Club president Ben Ashwood said the funding would be used to construct a second level on the existing clubhouse to upgrade the change rooms, referee rooms and toilets.

“Our club could not be more excited about our funding being approved,” he said

“We are immensely grateful for Julian’s success in having this project funded. We want to grow the game in the women’s sevens and Under 21s men’s divisions. But we need better facilities to accommodate everyone.

“This funding will help us continue to deliver for our members and their families.”
